even beyond prayer is the place you don’t write about. you imagine them happy cause you know it’s achievable without you. you imagine them having every need met and every want aligned and timed for their joy. you don’t know what that place looks or feels like cause you can’t imagine it without them but all the same you want them to have what’s best and since it’s not you, you learn not to write about it. not directly. you push the yearning ink into other things. name tags, signatures, art, risks, investments, lust, self-fulfilling prophecies, and final wills and testaments. someone always comes around to suggest it’s better this way but really you just hope the best gods got it right.
